The Veterans’ Honor Run takes place from Noon on Nov 10 to 10 AM on Nov 11 at Heritage Park in Canton, MI, with key moments including TAPS, Reveille, and a 5K. Hourly shout-outs will honor veterans throughout the event.
The event may be over, but the mission is not. We accept donations all year long to help fund our efforts. We are still active within the community raising awareness on veteran suicide rates, offering our challenge coins to all the veterans we encounter, and sharing resources for veterans that they may not have heard of. As someone recently wrote to me:
“As a veteran, I watched some of my brothers/sisters who have been challenged in moving back into civilian life and beyond. These veterans, who raised their hands and said “yes” to serve our country have not been provided the resources of support during their re-immersion into civilian life.”

Noon Fri Nov 10, 2023 thru 10AM Sat Nov 11, 2023 22 HOURS

Donations can be made to support this cause without participating. In 2022, Steve raised over $3,000 from his 22 hour event and more than 90% of the donations received went to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The board will choose causes supporting veterans at the end of the 2023 fundraising cycle.
Participants will receive gifts and a finisher award for completing 22 hours, with a stocked aid station .
I give my heartfelt thanks to all our participants, all the donors and supporters, and to every member of the crew who supported me. This event is a greater success because of each of your contributions. We’ve reduced the 22 hours down to an 8 minute video below.
Once again leading into Veteran’s Day, Steve will be running/jogging/walking for 22 hours, representing the 22 veterans per day who commit suicide in the U.S.
We are so excited to have a new venue for this year that we think will improve all the lessons learned from the prior two events! This year we will be in Canton at Heritage Park taking laps around the park for 22 hours straight.
80% of our proceeds will be donated to local charities that do good work for our veterans. For this year, we’ve chosen to split that between two causes. Victory Gym VHC is dedicated to conquering PTSD through physical fitness, support, and camaraderie. They also trace back to the origins of this storyline if you read our history. Guitars for Vets – Detroit Chapter is committed to helping vets in metro Detroit cope and rediscover joy through the power of music. The parent organization states “Veterans shouldn’t have to face the challenges of PTSD in silence or alone. Through the teamwork and camaraderie of Guitars for Vets, they can join a community where they learn to play the guitar and find solace in the songs they love as well as the songs they have yet to write.” The remaining 20% of the proceeds will help our organization with the community service and outreach projects we plan to do in 2024. We have zero paid board members, so after covering our costs, all money raised is in support of our veterans and our community.
We reducing veteran suicide rates by raising awareness, and generating funds for critical mental health services.
